It is based\non internationally recognised chemicals and is free from\ncalcium chloride and similar salts.\nTechnical support\nFosroc offers technical support service to specifiers, end\nusers and contractors, as well as on-site technical\nassistance in locations all over the country.\nProperties\nChloride content : Nil\nCompatibility with cements : Can be used with any type of\nPortland, Super Sulphate, Blast furnace or Pozzolanic\ncements.\nSetting time : There is no significant effect on the setting of\nsand/cement mortars.\nPlasticising action : Cebex 112 entrains a controlled amount\nof microscopic air bubbles which increase cohesion and\nprovide lubrication to the sane particles in the mix, thereby\nimparting improved workability to the mortar. The air bubbles\nhold the cement/water matrix at the contact surfaces which\nresults in improved bond strengths.\nFrost resistance : Where this is a consideration, that air\nentrainment appreciably increases the frost resistance of the\nfully cured mortar and also improves that of fresh mortar, as\nestablished by international practice.\nIncreased yield : The special action of Cebex 112 causes\nthe cement particles to disperse evenly throughout the mix,\nwhich combined with its air entrainment property, expands\nthe volume of the mortar. Increase in yield for the same\nquantities of sand and cement is typically between 8% and\n18%, depending upon the coarseness or fineness of the\nsand used.\nWith typical mixes of 1:3 and 1:4 cement : sand, the cost of\nCebex 112 will normally be recovered and, in most cases, a\nnet cost saving will be obtained, as a result of the increased\nyield.\nApplication instructions\nMixing\nCebex 112 Mortar Plasticiser may be added either direct to\nan individual mix or to the gauging water, depending upon\nsite convenience.\nDirect to the mix\n1. Use between 0.100 and 0.200 litres of Cebex 112 per\n100kgs of cement. Soft fine sand will require least and harsh\nsands most. Site trials will best determine the practical rate\nof addition in each case and are recommended.\n2. Cebex 112 to be stirred thoroughly before use. Measure\nthe total required quantity of Cebex 112 and stir into the first\nbucket of the gauging water.\n3. After dry mixing the sand/cement in the normal way, add\nthe Cebex 112 and start wet mixing.\n4. Continue adding plain water and mixing the mortar until\nthe required workability is obtained.\nNote : Do not add Cebex 112 directly to dry sand/cement\nmortar.\n1. An overdose of double the\nrecommended measure of Conplast P509 will result in\nincreased retardation of the initial set of the concrete. The\nultimate strength of the concrete will not be affected and could\nbe increased if advantage is taken of the increased workability\nby reducing water.\nEstimating\nPackaging\nCebex 112 is supplied in 100ml, 1, 5, 20 and 200 litre\ncontainers.\nStorage\nShelf life\nCebex 112 has a minimum shelf life of 12 months under\nnormal ambient temperatures. It should be protected from\ntemperatures above 400\nC and stored in shade.\nPrecautions\nHealth and safety instructions\nCebex 112 is mildly alkaline.
